Domestic violence involves physical violence, sexual violence, threats, economic and emotional/psychological abuse.
1 in 4 women will experience domestic violence by an intimate partner during their lifetime with significant long-term impacts on physical and mental health.
In 43% of domestic violence incidents with female victims, children are residents of the household where the incident occurred.
The devastating consequences of domestic violence can cross generations and last a lifetime.

We recommend a search for help from your local assistance at NYSCADV Domestic Violence Program Directory | NYSCADV. Elizabeth Rose Ministry is a transitional ministry that helps with furnishing the new place, once acquired. Your local Domestic Violence Program will be able to help with 1) creating a safety plan until leaving is an option, and/or 2) finding a safe location for the person and their children to go when threatened.
I have old electronics I’m getting rid of. Can I give them to you?
Elizabeth Rose Ministry doesn’t accept electronic entertainment items such as TVs, DVD players, and gaming systems. Storage space for donations is at a premium and must be utilized for necessities like furniture and household goods.
I’m cleaning out the property of a deceased relative. Will you take their old furniture?

I don’t have any used items to donate, and can’t physically help, but want to support the ministry. What else can I do?
Cleaning supplies are purchased new for each household. All of the items below can be found inexpensively at a local dollar store. For your convenience, we also put together an Amazon list of frequently used cleaning supplies.
